Saturday the 23rd featured 2 great events. The Curl For Her Bonspiel in support of the YWCA of Haliburton. 48 curlers in 2 draws, as well as donors and sponsors raised $2500 for our local crisis shelter. Paula Penning from the Haliburton office delivered an informative address on the needs and services of our local shelter.

The 2ndevent at the club running hand in hand with the bonspiel was Curling in Canada Day – hosted by Curling Canada – an “across the country bonspiel”. Our club raised $76 for Canadian youth curling and provided our cumulative “top of the scoreboard” vs “bottom of the scoreboard” tallies toward the national scoreboard, for all four draw times during the day. For our participation, we will receive 80 entries into the Curling Canada $10,000 Renovation Grant draw. The winning club will be announced after the March 11 deadline for entries.
