Haliburton Curling Club's 41st Jack Roberston Memorial curling bonspiel was held March 7, 2018. This one day curling event was enjoyed by 56 curlers, mostly from our club but also guests from out of town. The bonspiel was held in honour of an avid curler, business man, Rotarian, Mason and family man who contributed much to the curling club back in the 40's and 50's. Jack was the owner/operator of the Haliburton IGA for many years. Jack's daughter, Jacqueline Metcalf spoke proudly of her father and the commitment he had for his community. She expressed her appreciation to the club for honouring her dad for the last 41 years.

Wanda Stephen was the convenor and chef extrordinaire for this bonspiel and anyone who was there just raved about her roast beef dinner and Cuban soup! Congratulations Wanda for all the hard work you put into this spiel. Everyone had a great time.

Of course, the kitchen is not just a one person job. Wanda had fabulous help from members; Jackie Bradbury, Jacqui Clarkson, Wendy Miller, Laraine Draper, Cheryl Miscio and Sue Mason.

We can't forget the cake! A carrot cake with maple icing was brought in on a piece of plywood because it was that big! Wow, Eva! Absolutely delicious and creative!

Camp Wanakita, Emmerson Lumber, Sir Sam’s Ski & Bike, Wayne Hussey, Castle Antiques/Cafe, Haliburton Foodland, Hudson Henderson Insurance, Amanda Manary, Eva Griffith, April Martin and Brian Rutherford.
